Now in our 2nd year of partnership, Masons of California support the acclaimed child literacy program, Raising A Reader.

Founded in 1999, Raising A Reader’s program has been proven to inspire families to make reading a priority, establishing vital literacy skills.

Its unique, two-part literacy focus circulates high quality children’s books and teaches parents to use reading as a bonding tool to strengthen family relationships.

Through the support of generous donations from lodges and members throughout California, 200 classrooms are piloted Raising A Reader’s award winning literacy program in the 2012-2013 school year. Supplies purchased through Raising A Reader will last five years, helping thousands of elementary school children learn to read, engaging families, and building a legacy of literacy.
